Pastor Jon Morton is a North Carolina native but grew up throughout the Southeast in Virginia, Georgia, North & South Carolina. He preached his first sermon at just 13 years of age, proving to be the catalyst by which the Lord called him into pastoral ministry where he has faithfully served for nearly twenty years.

An honors graduate of Liberty University and Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Jon has earned his BS in the field of Religion with a major in Biblical Studies and a minor in New Testament Greek.  He has also earned 3 Master’s Degrees: Master of Arts in Religion with an emphasis on discipleship ministries, a Master of Religious Education, and a Master of Divinity with an emphasis on professional ministries.

Pastor Jon became a licensed minister in 2006, was ordained in 2009 and is certified as a transitional pastor. He has taken part in many other volunteer ministerial experiences, such as Christian School chapel guest speaker, denominational Student Ministries team leader & regional representative, soup kitchen volunteer coordinator & liaison, Pregnancy Center media consultant & events emcee, Sunday school teacher, dorm prayer leader, assistant worship leader and small, discipleship group facilitator. His musical background also includes singing in a choir, lead and background vocals, acoustic guitar, and sound engineering.  Preaching and teaching, personal discipleship, counseling, mentoring, visitation and intercession are among the many focus points of his ministry.

Pastor Jon’s greatest loves include his high school sweetheart of more than 20 years, Brittany; as well as their five children Monty, Zoë, Josiah, and twins, Seth & Steven. Jon is a voracious reader and writer, and enjoys leading worship, graphic design, and family movie nights. As a family, the Mortons strive to fulfill their mission to love God, love others, teach the Word and reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To every congregation and gathering of believers where Pastor Jon is privileged to serve and speak, their family seeks to demonstrate and share that life is not about us…because it’s ALL ABOUT JESUS!
