Pastor Willis Carlin Dempsey

Interim Pastor

Pastor Dempsey joins us on February 23, 2020 and will be with us for a year as our Transitional Intentional Interim Pastor. He will serve as our Pastor for all matters and Guide the Lords Church as we move forward in the selection of a new Pastor over the next year.

Education:  Dr. Dempsey has been in the ministry for 48 years. He graduated from Washington Bible College, his Master of Religious Education from George Wythe University and his Doctor of Divinity in Religious Education from Coral Ridge Baptist University. Ordination in 1979 Anchorage Baptist Temple, Anchorage Alaska.

Experience: Dr. Dempsey following college graduation was called to serve on staff at Thomas Road Baptist in Lynchburg, Va. under the late Jerry Falwell.  Dr. Dempsey served 15 years on staff at Anchorage Baptist Temple under Dr. Jerry Prevo. During his time in Alaska the church received recognition by Dr. Elmer Tows as “one of the fastest growing churches in America”

Dr. Dempsey has used sports as a tool to teach and reach young people in Alaska., Virginia as well as Wisconsin.  Dr. Dempsey while coaching football at a Christian school in Fairfax had three state championships and participated in the National Championship game in 1983.

In 1990 Dr. Dempsey entered the role of Senior Pastor in Virginia and in 1995 King’s Highway Baptist Church called him as pastor where he served for 22 years. Having a passion for reaching people Dr. Dempsey led Kings Highway Baptist Church to establish the Kings Kid Day Care and South Stafford Christian School. In 2017 Dr. Dempsey stepped down from the position as Senior Pastor and entered into semi-retirement as a church consultant and supply preaching.

Dylan Teaford

Dylan Teaford has always had a heart for the Lord. He has two incredible parents who are both U.S. veterans and one younger brother.

Dylan grew up in church and was saved at the age of 12 after watching the movie “Escape from Hell”.

While attending High School Dylan lead the youth group Wednesday night Bible study, branding it as “The Hub”.

Dylan has been active in many youth programs and established King George High School’s chapter of the Fellowship of Christian athletes.

  • Youth Singing Group – King’s Light’s
  • Vacation Bible School – Organizer, planner, and operations

Dylan attended Biomedical Engineering at the University of South Carolina in 2017 for one semester.  Dylan realized there was a calling on his life more significant so he moved back to Virginia and realized that God was calling him into full-time ministry.

In 2018 Dylan was accepted into Liberty University School of Divinity pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical Studies and Theology on a full scholarship.

Dylan teaches at South Stafford Christian School; interacting and instilling Christian principles in the school children, while also leading chapel.

In 2020 Dylan filled the role of Pastor Mark Dempsey after his passing.  Dylan leads the worship portion of the service, preaches, and teaches on Wednesday evenings. Dylan’s mission is to fulfill the great commission and reach as many people for him, recognizing that there is a need for his generation and younger to be saved. His age allows him to relate to a younger generation and make them realize that being on fire for the Lord is something we should all strive to do.

Lory Payne

Church Clerk

Lory Payne has stepped up to assume the position as Church Clerk. She brings administrative experience and talents to the job. This is a volunteer position so we appreciate the time she gives us. She also manages our cemetery relating to maintenance, burials, and sale of plots.
